Red Ribbon Week 2016

Since 1985, parents and youth in communities across the country have been wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction caused by drugs in America. Join VISD as we participate in the National Red Ribbon Campaign.

What's Up Doc? -with Dr. Jay Killgo

Dr. Jay Killgo, SuperintendentWhat an exciting time to be a Pirate in Vidor ISD. With the fall season knocking on our door, we have successfully completed and enjoyed a couple of huge events.
On Tuesday, October 4 Pirate Stadium, was a buzz of excitement as the community came together to celebrate National Night Out, a program that promotes good relations between the police department and the community.
Several organizations were represented as well as local first responders and the Stable Spirit horses. Click here to see a little of the evening's events.
In mid-October, we celebrated our annual Homecoming weekend. The events began with the Main St. paradehonoring our police officers. The Vidor Pirates then took on the Livingston Lions coming away with a 49-6 victory. The lights-out halftime show by the Band of Bands was spectacular as usual. The fun continued on Saturday with a Pirate Family Fun Run, a Taste of Vidor, a Vidor Business Showcase, concluding with a multi-year reunion at the Holiday Inn Plaza.
You can visit our Facebook page, Twitter page or the Vidorian for more information. Thanks again for all who came out and supported Vidor ISD and our community.
