GT Referral Window: February 5th-16th

Vidor ISD will begin the referral process for Gifted and Talented (G/T) services for the 2024-2025 school year for students currently enrolled in grades K-11 in VISD. We are committed to providing challenging learning experiences for students with exceptional intellectual and creative thinking abilities.

Other Important Dates:

GT Assessment Window for referred students – mid March

GT Selection Committee Meetings – May

Determination letters sent – June

Parent Orientation Session for newly identified GT students – July

GT Services Begin – First Day of School

 

GT/Talented Program

VISD provides a G/T program to meet the unique needs of students identified as gifted. Identification is made according to state guidelines and district policy. The program provides curriculum that focuses on opportunities for high level learning, thinking, research and communication skills.

 

The open referral window opens during the spring semester. Anyone may refer a student for screening/assessment during this referral period. Late applications will not be accepted. For more information on the program, please contact the Director of Curriculum at 951.8736.
