Vidor ISD Child Nutrition Department Launches New Payment System

Beginning July 18, 2024, VISD’s Child Nutrition services will launch a new system replacing My School Bucks. The SchoolCafe point of service platform will allow parents to easily add money to their child’s lunch account, view purchase history, and more. The new service can be accessed at SchoolCafe.

Meal portions are based on age requirements and all foods/beverages are to be balanced for nutrients, sugar, salt and fat. All meal plans follow the Texas Department of Agriculture and US Department of Agriculture regulations for school meal programs.


Breakfast - Whole Grain + Fruit or Fruit Juice + Milk + Healthy Fat is considered ahealthy, reimbursable meal (Lean Protein/Meat may substituted for Whole Grain a maximum of 3 times per week).


Lunch - Lean Meat/Protein + Whole Grain + Fruit + Vegetable + Milk + Healthy Fat is considered a healthy, reimbursable meal.

 

Costs for second meals or additional meals after the initial free student meal:

  • Breakfast Entrée - $2.00 for Students, Teachers, and Staff

  • Lunch Entrée - $2.50 for Students, Teachers, and Staff


 

Child Nutrition Resources

  • CEP Continued for 24-25 School Year

    The Vidor Independent School District will continue its policy to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024 - 2025 school year.Additional information and contacts.

    Students will be provided one free breakfast and lunch daily on school days under the CEP. We ask that families fill out a form to more accurately reflect the status of our student population.

  • SchoolCafeOne app for the entire cafeteria. Vidor ISD utilizes SchoolCafe for parents to makw payments, view purchase history, and receive low balance alerts. Automatic payments can be set up to replenish cafeteria funds.

    Part of the program’s features allow students to check menus, see nutritional information and allergens. They can also rate and favorite menu items from the app that can be downloaded from the apple store or play store.
